Day 59

July 2nd

Things are starting to wind up in Eldoret. I have two more days here
and I don't want to leave. It was only early this week that I finally
felt like the joy bringers were making real progress

Last weekend Joseph took a trip to the middle of nowhere to talk to
bee keepers about getting raw bee hive to make wax from. We had
already found out that we could buy bees wax by the kilo for a price
we were not thrilled about. I was skeptical about the processing and
stuff, but Joseph thought it could work. We figured out, just this
morning, that we can boil the honey comb in water and then ring out
the wax. Not a little, but a lot of wax. We were going to pay 300ks a
kg. Now I think we'll pay about 50ks, maybe. Big deal to the jb's.

Lucy is making new bags every day and they keep getting better. That's
more good news. If you asked me a few months ago if I would be
designing hand bags and candles I would have laughed. It's weird what
happens.

-cheers

New bags...

...with cool liners

We turned this bag of shit...

.....into bees wax!
